Born in the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and raised in the Lopinot Valley, in an environment of raw talent influenced mainly by his mother; combined with a strong rooted spiritual background which today is openly expressed through his music, here is… Kevin “Rowdy” Mollineau. Rowdy was first recognized in 1999, with a collaboration that made a great impact on the musical scene in Trinidad & Tobago. This brought about his first record deal with Rituals Music. This collaboration was with internationally recognized King of Soca, Machel Montano. The track was titled, “Burnin” produced by top Bajan producer and Dj Peter Coppin. With his then upcoming album entitled “The Breakthrough” released in December 2008, Rowdy clearly showed his versatility as an artiste with twelve (12) tracks ranging from reggae to ragga soca to soul to his spiritual contribution, “Jah Jah” judging from not only the melodious content, but lyrics as well. The album also features collaborations with Treason and Jah Bami. As a member of the Rituals family, Rowdy worked with fellow label artiste Cheewah, as a writer for girls group, “Fate”. Rowdy made his European debut at the London tent and also performed at the Leicester Caribbean carnival. Rowdy was also the pen behind the single/collaboration “Come Together” with London’s Diva, Wen’D. This single was sponsored by Youthology & Myspace. The vocalist, song writer, producer and international model is influenced by such greats as Bob Marley, Machel Montano, Peter Tosh, Sizzla, Beenie Man, David Rudder, Andre Tanker to name a few. He is definitely heading for a Breakthrough! His first new release for carnival 2011: “We Dutty” featured the explosively creative and entertaining local artiste; Benjai The song was written by the budding writer, Keon “Freak” Mollineau and was recorded at Hi Red Studios. His second new release: “Out & Bad” had a faster pace but is equally melodious and lyrically rich as the first song. “Out & Bad” was written by Jason “’Doc” Charles and produced by the ever popular Shalon Bailey & Dread Wizard Productions. It does not stop there with the enigmatic, versatile and extremely talented artiste. Kevin Rowdy Mollineau is also a budding entrepreneur and went on to found the production company, Thumb Thumbs Productions in 2011. Rowdy’s love of local culture and his heritage is an inspiration to him, as it his lifelong dream to propel local culture into the international arena. He has also partnered with We Limin Promotions International as the Creative Director and Arts & Entertainment Analyst where he and his fellow business partners aim to take Caribbean Culture to places that it has never gone before. The ever ambitious Rowdy, is back in the studio with Jason ‘Shaft’ Bishop and Shaft Vibes Entertainment, where he is hard at work recording his new tracks for Carnival 2012. He has already released to the public; his two (2) new tracks; “You Make My Day” which has been dubbed the R&B of soca music and the hit chutney soca “Indian Girl”. Since the release of these new tracks, which was written and produced by none other than the ever popular Jason “Shaft” Bishop, Rowdy has shown to the public, yet again, his versatility as an artiste.
